I've been in the hobby for 8-9 years now and have kept both LPS and SPS successfully. That being said i've also experienced losses for various reasons from pests to poor maintenance and have learnt a lot along the way. I designed this system to maximize aesthetics and the perception of depth and size in the tank while keeping maintenance to a minimum with bi-weekly water changes and an oversized in-line GFO reactor. The ATO system will run for over a week without top up and feedings are controlled by an APEX and AFS module. The system is equipped with an APC battery backup and runs autonomously throughout most of the week, minus a few glass cleanings and a weekly coral feeding.

Im using a Synergy Reef Overflow, 1" drains on a BeanAnimal and a 22" sump with an Omega 130 skimmer and 200 micron filter socks. An inline-GFO reactor is also on backup if needed.

Im running the same lighting system from my 48x20x20 system. 3 x XR15 Pro Gen3's on an RMS rail.

Im running 2 x MP40 Quiet Drives mounted on the left and right sides of the back wall. The alternating intensities and flow patterns keeps detritus off the sand and rocks and the corals happy.

My magnesium is dropping 20ppm in under 5 days at 2ml daily, which is an increase from my previous system. I attribute this to a couple large chalices that are already growing well. I'll have to keep
I just installed a DIY dosing line holder made out of a Maxijet holder. With a little heat it bends round nicely, drill a couple holes for the dosing lines and you have a cheap and cheerful dosing lin
I'm feeding the corals regularly to get increase growth, as I have a couple pieces I want to grow out. A ReefTech Starburst Montipora and a couple cyphastrea I'm hoping will start to take over their r
