Timeline

Introduction

Always had aquariums as a kid and throughout most of my adult life. Had all sorts of freshwater and planted aquariums as well my first saltwater tank back in the early 80's or so. This is my first full blown reef tank

Background

I started researching reef aquariums one year prior to even getting started. Tried to gain as much knowledge as I could before investing time and money and losing a bunch of livestock along the way. Started purchasing equipment in November of 2012 and had the tank up an running by May 2013.

Feeding

2/27/15 Update: Added a Neptune AFS Feeder to NLS Pellets twice per day in small amounts.

Feed LRS Reef Frenzy once per day. Fish and corals both love the reef frenzy and it's the only frozen food I will feed. Also add the occasional sheet of Nori for the tangs to munch on.

Maintenance

I wanted to make maintenance as easy and automated as possible. I believe the harder it is to do and the longer it takes the less likely you are to keep up with it. My Genesis Reef Pro auto water change and top off system has helped tremendously in this regard.
