Introduction
I have been in the reefing hobby for a little over 3 years now. I started with a 29 gallon and have since been through a 37, 40, 90, and now a 120 gallon. I am mostly self taught in the hobby by doing a lot of research but have had a lot of help from friends in the hobby and from our local reef groups in the area. I, along with a friend of mine, run a Facebook group for buying and selling of reef related equipment and livestock. I am active duty Air Force and move around which makes this hobby more difficult but so far I have been very successful in keeping everything I have.
Filtration
I have a 120 gallon tank with dual overflows that run through my 30 gallon Trigger Systems sump. I have two filter socks on the drains for mechanical filtration and a foam guard over my return pump.
Lighting
I just recently purchased two Ecotech Radion Gen 3's. For the 2+ years before that I ran a Reefbreeder Photon. The Reefbreeder was a great light but in the end I wanted a little more color and control over the spectrums.
Additives
Right now I mix 5tbsp of Kalkwasser per 5 gallons of RO/DI and use it in my top off container. I dose Seachem's Aquavitro Fuel twice a week. I also dose BRS Calcium twice a week as well.
Disasters & Regrets
I regret not getting a larger tank to start off with. I have wasted a lot of money in between my 29 gallon I started with to the 120 gallon I have now. I should have saved and went big to start off with.
