I'm using a 306! It's very quiet and effective.
I have a 407 on a 200L tanks. very happy with the filter. as other have said change our the filter bio media to Biohome Ultimate. i have a set up in the trays are coarse sponge (that came with it) i the put in filter floss to top it up on the next try filter floss and a Fine sponge on top. on the next to trays Biohome Ultimate (each tray hold 1KG) as this is a new set up i did not want the Biohome Ultimate to get clogged up. Will change to 1 tray sponge (coarse, medium, fine) and then 3 trays of Biohome Ultimate (3KG in total) and I may even use some Biohome gravel to fill any small spaces.
I am very happy with this filter. It is very quiet and does a job in a 112-liter aquarium. I recommend replacing the filter media on Biohome Ultimate. In my case, counting from the bottom in the first basket I have 3 layers of sponge (medium, coarse, fine), then in 2 subsequent baskets 1Kg Biohome Ultimate. In this configuration, the nitrate level varies between 0 and 5 mg / l
Fluvar 406 does the job for 240 lt cichlid aquarium. The best is that it required less maintenance. The negative is that the filtration media that is on the box is limited.

I have a Fluval G6 and Fluval 306 on my 240 litre tank. Yes overkill on filtration but amazing filters.
